Isaiah 53:4 (NKJV)
Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
As a survivor of Domestic violence I often take comfort in this scripture, because I realized I didn't have to live a life of pain, hurt, and sorrow. I learned early on that domestic violence by definition is when a abuser perpetuate violence on to another person for no reason, but the abusee allows this behavior because of their undying love for the abuser.
Jesus was the first victim of domestic violence, he allow this behavior because of his undying love for his abuser "man". Jesus has already paid the price for me. He took my beating now I don't have to take one! You are not a victim you are a survivor!
